How many Futureshop employees does it take to screw in a light bulb?
I don’t know, none of them will help me.
Standing in the Blu Ray section
Employee #1: “Can I help you find anything?”
Me: “I’m looking for this Blu Ray. The website says your store has it in stock. I’ve already looked through the $7.99 dump bin”
Employee #1: “Go stand in that line up and ask Employee #2 to look it up”
*5 minutes later*
Employee #2: “How can I help you?”
Me: “I’m looking for this Blu Ray. The website says your store has it in stock.”
Employee #2: “Here it is.”
Me: “That’s the $20 Steel Cover version, I’m looking for just the $7.99 blu ray.”
Employee #2: “Go check the bin”
Me: “I actually already looked, it wasn’t there.”
Employee #2: “Check again. If it’s not there, come back and let me know.”
I remove each blu ray from the bin one by one and put them back in. I return to the counter, Employee #2 is no where to be found.
I approach Employee#3.
Me: “Looking for this”
*show him product description on iPhone*
Me: “Your website says you have it.”
*Point out ‘In Stock’ on website*
Employee#3: “Employee #4 will help you look for that.”
Employee#4: “Yes, our system says we have three in stock. I’ll go find someone to look for it for you.”
5 Minutes Later
Employee#4: “Employee#5 will find someone to look for the blu ray for you.”
Employee#5 never returns.
Employee#3 comes back
Employee#3: “Did you find it?”
Me: “No, no one is helping me look.”
Employee #3: “Well, if you leave your phone number, maybe we can call you if we find it.”
Me: “Can’t you just look for it now?”
Employee #3: “Wait here.”
Employee #6: “Okay, so it turns out we don’t have it. Sorry.”
One of my favourite things is finding a new movie that I love. Discovering a fantastic movie that I’ve never seen before always gives me a thrill. That’s part of why I decided to make my top ten list. These are movies that I recommend you watch. My initial top ten list actually contained 40 movies. I thought I’d list them all here if anyone is looking for a movie to watch. These aren’t necessarily award-winning movies, but they are my favourites.
12 Monkeys / The Abyss / Back to the Future / The Big Lebowski (or any Coen Brothers movie) / Blade Runner / Charade / Dark City / Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid / Donnie Darko / Duck Soup / The Fall / The Fifth Element / Fight Club / Frailty / The Frighteners / A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum / The Incredibles / Jaws / Kiss Kiss Bang Bang / Kung Fu Hustle / LA Confidential / Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels (As well as Snatch. I tend to lump these two movies together) / The Maltese Falcon / The Man With Two Brains / Memento / Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie / O Brother, Where Art Thou? / The Professional / The Radioland Murders / Rear Window / The Running Man / Scott Pilgrim VS The World / Sin City / Spirited Away / Star Wars (The original trilogy) / The Thin Man / The Thing / The Triplets of Belleville / True Romance / The Usual Suspects
